Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. Her first feature film appearance was a tiny role on her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). In the following film she was portrayed as a Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan Donavan played the role featured in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987. Charlotte was in Taffin (in the year 1988) and Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. A photographer approached Doody. Doody began to model and subsequently the profession of commercial modeling. Doody did not like glamour or nude work, a rule she carried over to her acting. She was cast in a minor role as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was noticed by the casting director. Doody was named one of 12 Promising New Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Volume. 38. Doody had just turned 18 at the time she was cast in the character as a Bond girl. Doody is the youngest Bond girl to date. A different early film had her in a minor role in a small role as IRA member Siobhan Donovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) which starred Mickey Rourke. Doody played an unseen role as Archibald Craven's spouse Lilias during his dream, 1987's adaptation of The Secret Garden. The first time she played the lead in an episode from 1988 of the Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took perhaps her most well-known role to date as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors who have portrayed James Bond. Doody was a part of Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series based on Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she was later chosen to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery his girlfriend and agent.
